People think of children as either sweet and innocent or too stupid to cause much trouble and both views are wrong. A child of elementary school age has the moral reasoning and impulse control of a racoon paired with problem solving equal to or superior to an adult’s, yet unbound by the shackles of cautionary experience or awareness of long-term consequence.
This is what allows the children to both create a black market in live bioweapons while still only valuing said weapons at 25 cents.
completely untested theory but
i think social media not only has eroded ideas of privacy (”if you have nothing to hide why do you care?”), but in a much more harmful way it promotes the notion that there should be no difference between public thoughts and private behaviour. But this is totally bogus because people behave differently according to different situations, and this isn’t being “fake”, it’s just what navigating social situations in a proficient manner is like.
The way I behave with my friends and my family, the way I behave in private, is not for public consumption. Nor should it be. Publicness is a matter of choice, it shouldn’t be mandatory.
People are not entitled to anyone’s private thoughts on anything.
People have a right to decide what they wish to show in public and what they wish to hide.
Fun fact: the reason wearing seatbelts became common in the US was because kids were trained to in school, and would constantly bug their parents to wear their own seatbelts. In my mom’s words, everyone was shamed by little children into behaving safely.
This is how I got my mom to quit smoking,,, by annoying the everloving shit oughta her at age 7
My 8 year old looked at a man in the airport (when I had to fly her to her Dad’s for the summer) and the sass came out in 3 ways.
First: She would constantly ask why someone wasn’t wearing a mask, loudly. “It’s not like it’s hard.”
Second: Standing in line to get food she noticed ome guy behind us wasn’t adhering to the 6 feet guidelines. She turned to him. “Six feet please.” He was so surprised he stepped back automatically. But then glared at me as I shrugged. “Rules are rules dude. She did say please.”
Third: A woman sneezed on the other side of the terminal waiting area. She was joined by a couple other kids for this one. “If you cough or sneeze, use your elbow please.” Honestly half of us were trembling to keep in the laughter and the others were just shocked to hear kids speak up like that.
hearing a five year old yell across the yard that the neighbors were having a party and “its illegal!” is hysterical.

When Minecraft 1.8 added Rabbits, they looked like this. No one seems to remember! I mean, the odd time I mention it to a big minecraft nerd they’ll be like “oh yeah” but most seem to forget!
They were big! They had more health, they spawned in more biomes, and they also… in 1 snapshot, were able to be tamed.
Now, I personally see now that there are more creative things to do with animals in minecraft than just taming (foxes are a good start)
though, i still think animal revival would be nice, since losing pets forever makes me sad. i WILL cry over the pixel animals
anyway, i mainly just wanted to get this first point across that rabbits WERE BIG
were they too big? imo, a bit perhaps, but 1.9 made them waaay too small, and they really stick out as the last animal added before new design principles for animals started being like, properly coherent across the game and more consistently against killing animals - the rabbits feel like the rest of the farm animals, you kill em for food and some materials.
I refer to them as the “awkward puberty stage animal” of the game in its design. More complex than most, but still holding onto the basic ideas of what minecraft animals were initially
ANYWAYS i come here to bless you all with this knowledge
okay but this reminds me of my first pet rabbit Catto she was advertised as being a dwarf rabbit who was also a runt so we expected her to stay small right? WRONG in terms of length she grew a bit longer than our elderly standard poodle that dog was terrified of her. Now then I mainly have vague memories of Catto due to how young I was these are all very good memories of Catto being active but towards the end of her life. Now I am the first child of my parents and we lived with my grandparents when a baby moves into a house with a fairly large dog you tend to hear stories about how the dog adopts the baby the only time our dog would guard me was when I was sleeping on the second floor where Catto couldn’t go everywhere else the dog avoided me this is because Catto the big thing she was saw baby me and decided she was my parent now I have vague memories of this huge white fluffy rabbit grooming me then a few years later Catto died of old age we eventually got a new rabbit given the work that Catto was in terms of care there was talk about getting a rabbit from a neighbors litter (I grew up in a rural are one neighbor did have rabbits but that house was abandoned by the time I started elementary) however my family decided to get a rabbit that was advertised as the breed of rabbit that Catto turned out to be however the exact opposite thing occurred we were told we were adopting one of largest rabbit breeds that was recorded at the time Jordan ended up growing to being about the size of a football
Now then I and my family entirely chalk these things of how big we were told the rabbits would get vs how big they actually grew to be is due to both of them being rescues from animal shelters and given the circumstances of the shelters acquiring them leaded to the staff having to guess the breeds I mainly find it funny that it’s was the same thing but flipped twice in a row
literally nothing funnier than a newly born aquatic mammal realizing they've been cursed to live in water
